Ja he assistit un parell de cops a les reunions que fa el Gator Chess Club els dilluns a la nit. Normalment la cosa va així: es comença a les set amb els comentaris d'una partida jugada recentment per algun dels membres del club i després la resta fan partides informals o oficials. No sé molt bé com funciona la cosa als Estats Units, però per algun motiu hi ha partides que compten per Elo que semblen com les que faria el Club d'Escacs Cassà en un reservat del Centre Recreatiu.
El meu rival habitual és un noi originari de Bangladesh. Té un nivell aproximat de 1800 i, pel que veig, equivaldria a un 2100 d'Elo català. Encara no li he guanyat cap, però m'hi aproximo partida a partida.
